Technicolour

Otherwise known as Pete, Technicolor originally hails from Luton, but has since moved to Battersea in South West London. Now 27 Pete has been listening to / mixing DnB since the early nineties, but it was not until 2001 that he delved into the world of production. Many tunes down the line and with an abundance of musical influences behind him, we spotted him through his posts on the legendary Drum & Bass Arena.

Having won the acclaimed 1Xtra cutting room competition with his track 'Everything is Everything', we snapped him up without any hesitation! With beats as crisp as a brand spanking Bentley and melodic vibes to keep your head nodding all night, Technicolor is sure to take his place in DnB history!

Tunes and the Future

Making music is one of the most satisfying things in my life. In many ways, the process is far more rewarding and interesting than savouring the final product. I love trawling old record shops, fayres and the internet for old samples and loops, and finding things that work and tesselate, that create a vibe. I love the fact you can take elements from any genre, and from any time in history, and use them together with your own music to create something completely fresh. Drum & bass has such a loose template; 175bpm with breakbeats. After that, anything goes and so I'm forever thinking of new concepts and different avenues for tunes. There just isn't enough time in the day to get them all down! But hopefully in the future, if people take an interest in my music, it might be something I can pursue full time. I certainly hope so. The greatest drum & bass sample in the universe is still in a dusty record store somewhere, just waiting to be discovered.
